# Celtic set for transfer tussle though boss fears attraction could be too much

**After such a wonderful campaign, the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern really aren’t used to losing, having won every single domestic game under Brendan Rodgers.**

So, even reports from the [Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-facing-battle-cardiff-city-10531663) hinting at a potential transfer tussle don’t scare the Bhoys in the bar.

Indeed, the Hoops and Cardiff City are [reportedly](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-facing-battle-cardiff-city-10531663) set to battle for the services of Aberdeen forward Jonny Hayes this summer. Celtic have recently been [touted](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-target-jonny-hayes-brendan-10521298) as a potential destination for the 29-year-old, though the Bluebirds made [quite a few bids](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38584813) for him in January.

Now, Neil Warnock is [said](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-facing-battle-cardiff-city-10531663) to have returned to the race to land the Irishman, though does [reportedly](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-facing-battle-cardiff-city-10531663) fear the lure of Parkhead could be too much for Hayes.

Whether or not the Dons star will be able to make too much of an impact on Celtic’s first-team is up for debate, though those clad in green and white propping up our bar believe he’d be a wonderful squad option over the course of the campaign.

**Thoughts?**
