# Celtic: Some fans were unimpressed with Scott Brown’s performance against Hearts

**Despite seeing their team [cruise to a 5-0 victory](https://www.skysports.com/football/celtic-vs-hearts/411370) and establish a commanding [10-point lead](https://spfl.co.uk/league/premiership/table) at the top of the Premiership last night, some Celtic fans still weren’t completely satisfied with what they saw from one of their stalwarts at Parkhead.**

The performance of captain Scott Brown against Hearts came under scrutiny from quite a few of the Hoops faithful on a night that saw him complete the entirety of a league game for the 14th time in a row and maintain his record of starting every top-flight match this season (as per [TransferMarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scott-brown/leistungsdaten/spieler/12688)).

The 34-year-old’s distribution was called out by some reporters, with Hamish Carton of [67hailhail.com](https://www.67hailhail.com/news/celtic-player-ratings-vs-hearts-celts-go-ten-clear-at-the-top/) giving the midfielder a lowly five in his player ratings and saying that he was “slack in possession at times”. [Read Celtic](https://readceltic.com/2020/02/13/celtic-player-ratings-hearts-h-4/)‘s Mizgan Masani wrote: “The captain wasn’t at his best in the first half and lacked the cutting edge”, while [Glasgow Times](https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/18231123.celtic-5-hearts-0-celtic-players-rated-stunning-second-half-blitz/) reporter Graeme McCarry felt that Brown “looked a little off it in the first 45 minutes”.

The skipper came close to scoring after half-time with a shot that [cannoned off the post](https://www.skysports.com/football/celtic-vs-hearts/411370) but these Celtic fans on Twitter still felt underwhelmed by his performance against Hearts, with one supporter comparing his display to [ex-Parkhead flop](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11781/5771292/flood-admits-celtic-mistake) Willo Flood:

> Poor in possession toward the end of the half, Scott Brown playing like Willo Flood.
