# Celtic: Some Hoops fans talk about Edouard

**Some Celtic fans have been left talking by the latest update involving Odsonne Edouard recently.**

Recently, talkSPORT presenter Alan Brazil revealed that there is a chance that Edouard wears the number seven jersey for the Hoops next season. He [said that in a video that he posted on Twitter](https://twitter.com/alanbrazil/status/1246829351586467841?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1246829351586467841&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hitc.com%2Fen-gb%2F2020%2F04%2F06%2Fnews-from-glasgow-alan-brazil-has-heard-something-interesting-ab%2F) recently.

A Hoops-related page called [CelticBible relayed this piece of information](https://twitter.com/celticbible/status/1246887661912100865) on social media, saying that it will be ‘stupendous’ if Edouard does wear the number seven next season.

This left many Celtic fans talking. Some made it clear that they don’t want this to happen. One made it clear that if Edouard does get the number seven, he should stay at Parkhead.

Edouard has been in impressive form this season under Neil Lennon, having found the back of the net [27 times in all competitions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) while also racking [up 19 assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152). In the Premiership, the Frenchman has contributed to[33 goals in just 27 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152).

The numbers do show what an impact Edouard has had at Parkhead. There has speculation linking him with moves to[Arsenal](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsenal-eye-odsonne-edouard-transfer-21732662), [Leicester](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/celtic-striker-odsonne-edouard-30m-21232799) and [Newcastle United](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/steve-bruce-prioritising-transfer-celtics-21776081). Keeping that in mind, one can say that his future at Celtic is far from secure.

Considering the number [seven jersey was donned by Henrik Larsson](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/henrik-larsson/rueckennummern/spieler/3514), Celtic have to make sure that they hand it someone who remains at the club long-term. Judging by the reports, it doesn’t seem Edouard will be staying at Parkhead on a long-term basis.
