# Celtic stalwart lined up for January exit by Parkhead legend

**There’s little that can get the Celtic fans parked up at the bar in the Transfer Tavern down right now, such is the nature of life under Brendan Rodgers at Parkhead.**

Having woken the Hoops from the Ronny Deila induced slumber that appeared to plague them for the Norwegian’s two years in charge, the notion of having the ex-Liverpool chief at the helm for a number of years is an exciting one for them.

Rodgers is conducting a rebuild in green and white and reports from the [Edinburgh Evening News](https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/hibs-eye-celtic-s-kris-commons-in-bid-to-strengthen-title-tilt-1-4312674) have only cemented that within their minds.

They [claim](https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/hibs-eye-celtic-s-kris-commons-in-bid-to-strengthen-title-tilt-1-4312674) Bhoys stalwart Kris Commons is being lined up by former boss Neil Lennon in January as Hibernian plot a move in the coming weeks.

A stalwart of the club’s success in recent years, the 33-year-old hasn’t featured for the SPFL champions since March and seemingly has no future under Rodgers.

He’s been a hugely popular figure amongst the supporters propping up the bar over the last few years, though the [idea](https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/hibs-eye-celtic-s-kris-commons-in-bid-to-strengthen-title-tilt-1-4312674) of him leaving surely has little impact on the first-team.

Lennon, now in charge at Easter Road, [reportedly](https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/hibs-eye-celtic-s-kris-commons-in-bid-to-strengthen-title-tilt-1-4312674) views the former Derby County ace as the ideal man to help his title challenge in the Scottish Championship, with John McGinn out injured.

Commons himself is [said](https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/hibs-eye-celtic-s-kris-commons-in-bid-to-strengthen-title-tilt-1-4312674) to be open to the idea of a move to Leith, though his wages could [apparently](https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hibs/hibs-eye-celtic-s-kris-commons-in-bid-to-strengthen-title-tilt-1-4312674) complicate matters.

**Would Commons win Hibs the league? Let us know below..**
