# Celtic: These fans were ecstatic about Odsonne Edouard’s free kick goal against Motherwell

**Plenty of Celtic fans on Twitter were raving about striker Odsonne Edouard after he added two more goals to his tally on Wednesday night, taking him to [23 for the season](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) and [seven in his last five league games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152).**

The Frenchman [got the Hoops off the mark](https://www.skysports.com/football/motherwell-vs-celtic/411366) against Motherwell after just nine minutes but it was his second goal of the night that had many Celtic fans in raptures. As noted by [@CelticFC](https://twitter.com/celticfc/status/1225167490843598850?s=21) on Twitter, the 22-year-old rounded off the scoring at Fir Park in the 80th minute as he found the net with a [masterful free kick from just outside the penalty area](https://www.skysports.com/football/motherwell-vs-celtic/411366). He was also very close to claiming an assist after his cross for Leigh Griffiths was headed off the bar by his strike partner, as per [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/motherwell-vs-celtic/411366).

Edouard now has [19 goals in the Premiership](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/odsonne-edouard/leistungsdaten/spieler/344152) this season, making him [by far the leading scorer in the division](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/scottish-premiership/torschuetzenliste/wettbewerb/SC1/saison_id/2019), with [BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/51290578) reporter Jonathan Sutherland saying that “his quality shone through” and “at times he was unplayable”. These Celtic fans on Twitter also gushed about the 22-year-old after his sweetly-struck free kick against Motherwell, with one believing that he has surpassed fellow Frenchman and ex-Hoops forward Moussa Dembele:
