# Celtic: These fans were unimpressed with Hoops’ performance in win at St Mirren

**Following their win on Boxing Day, Celtic [maintained their five-point lead](https://www.skysports.com/football/st-mirren-vs-celtic/report/411339) at the top of the Scottish Premiership and extended their winning run in the division to [11 matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-glasgow/spielplan/verein/371).**

First half goals from Callum McGregor and James Forrest were enough to see off St Mirren in Paisley, while Odsonne Edouard also had a goal ruled out for offside early in the second half. \[[via Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/st-mirren-vs-celtic/report/411339)\]

The Hoops’ nerves were frayed late on when Cammy MacPherson [halved the home side’s deficit in the 89th minute](https://www.skysports.com/football/st-mirren-vs-celtic/report/411339) but Neil Lennon’s team had done enough to leave with the three points.

While St Mirren were indebted to goalkeeper Vaclav Hladky on several occasions, as per Martin Watt for [BBC Scotland](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/50847211), the Buddies gave an improved performance in the second half and had a couple of good chances, with Ryan Flynn side-footing wide and Jon Obika drawing a save from Fraser Forster.

Celtic will remain top of the Premiership going into 2020 even if they lose on Sunday, but with their final game of the calendar year [pitting them against second-placed Rangers](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/celtic-glasgow/spielplan/verein/371), these Hoops fans on Twitter weren’t overly impressed with their display against St Mirren and feel that improvement is needed for Sunday’s derby:
