Celtic’s Croatian defender Josip Juranovic could be on his way to the Premier League when the winter transfer window opens in January.

The Lowdown: Juranovic at Celtic

Since leaving Legia Warsaw for Celtic in the summer of 2021, Juranovic has not looked back.

The 27-year-old adapted nicely to life with the Premiership giants and shone in the Europa League last season, where he was able to demonstrate his attacking threat from deep, finishing as the Hoops’ joint-top scorer in the competition with two goals.

He is currently in and around his prime years, with his late bloom putting him in line for a possible Premier League switch amid recent rumours linking him with a move away from Celtic, having been unable to agree a new deal with the Scottish champions.

The Latest: Juranovic backed for England move

According to transfer expert Dean Jones, there is “a pretty good chance” that Juranovic leaves Parkhead during the winter, with the English top flight touted as a likely destination for the Croatia defender.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones said: “It’ll be interesting, there is a pretty good chance that he leaves, I’m told that.

“And there’s no doubt he could end up in the Premier League because there have been two or three clubs watching them over the course of the season so far.”

The Verdict: Celtic already prepared

Amidst Celtic’s recent capture of Alistair Johnston ahead of January, it looks as though Juranovic is more disposable given that the Hoops have already strengthened their right-back ranks.

His impressive Parkhead displays have earned him a place as Croatia's first-choice right-back in the ongoing World Cup, and he will look to cash in on that by potentially making a dream move to the Premier League, with the hopes of going on to emulate Virgil van Dijk in flourishing in England after a spell at Celtic.
