West Bromwich Albion‘s potential signing of former Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic would be an exciting one if it goes through, according to journalist Chris Lepkowski.
The Lowdown: West Brom close to Rogic signing
On Friday, it emerged that the Baggies were closing in on the signing of the 29-year-old, whose time as a Hoops player came to an end earlier this year.
It looks as though West Brom will snap up the out-of-contract Australian on a free transfer, as Steve Bruce aims to execute some much-needed business.
The Latest: Lepkowski reacts to Rogic news
He said of the 29-year-old:
“This would be a very interesting signing. Decent player, likes to get forward.”
The Verdict: Exciting addition for Baggies
Rogic is exactly what West Brom need in terms of a central midfielder who can dictate games, bringing poise and defensive quality in a deeper role. That’s not to say he can’t score goals himself either, with 46 coming his way at Celtic, along with 49 assists.
Happy with West Brom's window?
It was OK
Not good enough!
The likes of John Swift and Jed Wallace can provide ammunition further up the pitch while being ably accompanied by the former Celtic wizard, who was lauded for his “extra special qualities” by his ex-manager Ange Postecoglou last term.
