Derby County could have found the perfect replacement for Tom Ince with this player

The Derby fans have made a rare trip to the Transfer Tavern today to chat about their newest acquisition over a few drinks.

The club recently confirmed the signing Leicester winger Tom Lawrence on a long term contract.

At only 23 years of age, Lawrence is already a bit of a journey man having lined up for Manchester United, Leicester, Rotherham, Carlisle, Cardiff, Yeovil, Blackburn and Ipswich.

Granted most of them have been loan spells but still, the youngster will surely be hoping he can make a permanent impression in the Derby first team.

Derby boss Gary Rowett has apparently been tracking the winger all summer long following the departure of Tom Ince.

Rowett wants to add creativity to his side following a relatively slow start to the season in which they have four points from their opening three games.

It is far too early to say whether the Man United academy graduate will be a success for his new club, but Derby will provide the best and most consistent stage for him to perform on.

It’s all up to him now.

For £7 million it’s not much of a risk by the Rams and if they can tap into the Welshman’s potential then they could soon see that investment returned.
