Nottingham Forest take on Derby on Monday night in a big clash between two sides contending for a playoff place.
Forest currently sit two points off the playoff places but also three behind Derby in fifth. Karanka’s side have become one of the most balanced sides in the league as they have only conceded 22 goals, while also scoring 32. Karanka has one of the best strikers in the league in Lewis Grabban and with the 14-goal forward in the team, they have a player that can take them towards promotion.
Moreover, with Joe Lolley in the side they have one of the best players in the Championship. The English midfielder has scored six goals while also grabbing six assists. Unfortunately for Karanka, the side has been hit with a recent flood of injuries.
Karanka will likely be without Tobias Figueiredo for the game but also Michael Dawson and Daniel Fox.
Former Tottenham Hotspur Michael Dawson has played 13 appearances this season and will be a big loss for their game against Derby. Fox has been even better and has been one of the best players for the club this season and has made 14 appearances for the side this season. Losing Figueiredo only adds even more pressure on Karanka to put together a makeshift defence and on Monday night he will likely be forced to play Ben Osborn at left-back once again.
Against Preston North End, he also had to play Jack Robinson at centre-back and it seems he may have to pick him there once again.
