Aston Villa fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can gather some momentum on the final day of the regular season, as they will be looking to assert their dominance on the play-offs.
Indeed, the Villains have looked rather impressive in recent times as they’re beginning to build up ahead of steam, with promotion to the Premier League looking likely if they can continue to grind out positive results. Although, they will head into the match against Millwall with a few injury worries, as according to BBC Sport’s pre-match team news, Neil Taylor and Birkir Bjarnason are likely to be out.
Interestingly, Neil Taylor put in a horror performance against Derby County last time out in the Championship, as he was ripped apart early on and was at fault for the opening goal of the game. But, it looks as if he will miss the game against Millwall due to a hamstring injury after being subbed off at Villa Park last weekend.
Similarly, Villa are also likely to be without Birkir Bjarnason for the match at The Den, as the Icelandic international is currently suffering from a calf injury.
Supporters will be disappointed that Birkir Bjarnason is looking like missing tomorrow’s game, as the midfielder has impressed at times over the course of the current campaign. But, missing it could be bad news for Neil Taylor, as the experienced Alan Hutton could take his place in Villa’s push for promotion via the play-offs.
