According to sources in Italy, Inter Milan midfielder McDonald Mariga has been heavily linked with a move to the premiership this summer, and looks set to exit the San Siro just 18 months after he arrived.
La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed the West Midlands is the Kenyan international’s likely destination, with both Aston Villa and West Brom weighing up a move for the £7m rated star.
Before signing for Inter back in February 2010, Mariga was set to join Manchester City in a ‘BIG’ money move but failed to obtain a work permit before the transfer window closed.
After just 22 appearances for the Italian giants, plus Inter Milan President Massimo Moratti praising the 24 year old and admitting “It’s best thing that could have happened” when referring to Mariga’s switch from Parma, it seems highly unlikely they would be looking to offload the sought after middle-man, whom is tied to the club until 2013.
But you never know, stranger things have happened… we shall see.
