Aston Villa looked dominant at the Riverside Stadium yesterday as they managed to secure all three points against Middlesbrough away from home.
The Villains have come on leaps and bounds under Dean Smith in recent times having taken 13 points from a possible 15 in their last five Championship fixtures. And, to make things even better, it appears as if the club are edging closer to securing a big player agreement, as according to The Sunday People (02/12; page 47) (via HITC) Albert Adomah is set to be handed a new Aston Villa contract.
Indeed, the winger hasn’t always been able to ensure consistency at Villa Park in the current campaign, but he has certainly played a big part in Villa’s upturn in form under Dean Smith recently.
Interestingly, the 30-year-old did not enjoy the best of relationships with Steve Bruce and came close to leaving the club as he struggled for game-time earlier on this season.
Adomah is currently out on the sidelines suffering with an injury, but his performances since Smith has taken over have clearly warranted a new deal at Villa Park.
Albert Adomah will play a huge part in the club’s push for promotion and has already had a big impact on proceedings in recent times, so a new contract is just reward for the winger.
Aston Villa are in a great position to secure promotion to the Premier League this season with a very strong squad and one of the best managers in the Championship at the helm, so they will definitely be in and around the play-off places come the end of the season.
