Albert Adomah failed to get move away from Aston Villa

One of Aston Villa’s fringe players failed to get a move away from Villa Park this summer, despite an offer being on the table.

According to a report by the Birmingham Live, Albert Adomah had the opportunity to join Championship rivals Middlesbrough on a temporary deal this season.

However, it is being claimed that the player had initially wanted a deal that would have the possibility of a permanent switch, something Tony Pulis’ side were not keen on.

It is understood that an agreement had originally been made between the two sides before Boro then moved the goalposts.

Adomah is thought to be out of the picture at Villa Park under Steve Bruce once again, despite his heart remaining with the club.

It is believed that he has tried to get a new contract to remain with the Villans, however, there is no deal thought to be on the table at the moment and he would be expected to agree to a reduced package if he were to stay.

The Verdict:

Adomah will need to work hard this season if he is to have any chance of getting back into the first-team picture.

With the arrivals of Yannick Bolasie and Anwar El Ghazi this summer, his chances will become even more limited in Bruce’s team.

The £4.5million-rated winger, as per Transfermarkt, will now look to prove his manager wrong once again, after being frozen out at the start of last season, otherwise, a move will certainly be in the 30-year-old’s best interests.
