Aston Villa fans on Twitter weren’t best pleased with news of USA pre-season clash

Aston Villa fans aren’t best pleased with the latest news that they’ll be travelling to America over the summer for a pre-season clash against Minnesota United. The MLS club will provide Villa with a good game Stateside, but the fans aren’t best pleased with how far they’ll be travelling for it and would rather stay in Europe for their tour.

The Villains could well be travelling to the USA this summer with the status of a Premier League club again as they look destined to stay in the top six and do battle in the playoffs once again. It certainly won’t be easy, but it’s definitely possible and with their current form, you can’t bet against Dean Smith’s Villains as they aim to finally make it back to the big time.

The current season has been a very successful one and the Villains must look back to their pre-season this campaign for setting them up for a strong season. Back in summer 2018, under Steve Bruce, Aston Villa mostly stayed in England and faced a number of different sides from the sixth tier of English football to the Premier League, with one away trip to face Dynamo Dresden in Germany. This summer is set to be so much more exotic as they travel to America and the fans aren’t all delighted.

Travel costs and the like will be high for this trip for the fans, but there’s no doubt plenty of Villains will be on hand to watch their side.
