Aston Villa supporters have been pretty downbeat in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their team bow out of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
Steve Bruce’s men went into their clash with League One outfit Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium off the back of three successive draws in the Championship, with Ipswich Town, Brentford, and Reading all taking points off the Midlands giants. And things didn’t get much better for the Villans in midweek as a Liam Boyce strike was enough to secure victory for the Brewers in the second round of the Carabao Cup, ending Villa’s participation in that competition for another year.
As such, there have been many disappointed Villa fans up and down the country in recent times, although they are likely to be encouraged by the fact that Albert Adomah has remained at the club following the conclusion of the EFL loan window on Friday.
The 30-year-old winger made the move to Villa back in 2016 and has since gone on to become a key player for Bruce’s team, netting 18 goals and laying on 19 assists in 90 appearances for the Villans, 15 goals and seven assists of which coming last term as he finished the club’s top goal-scorer.
Yet reports suggested that Middlesbrough were seeking to lure the winger back to the Riverside Stadium, which is news that did not go down particularly well with several Villans supporters.
Yet the fact that Adomah does indeed remain an Aston Villa player has stimulated quite a response from plenty of fans on Twitter, with several thrilled that the £4.5 million-rated ace (as per Transfermarkt) has stayed at Villa Park…

Thankfully. That would have undoubtedly come back to haunt us.
