Aston Villa fans react to Albert Adomah’s Norwich City display

Aston Villa supporters have been pretty downbeat in recent times after seeing their side suffer their first defeat under Dean Smith on Tuesday night.

The former Brentford boss led the Villans to victory in his first match in charge against Swansea City at the weekend to get his reign off to the best possible start, and as such was looking for back-to-back successes when his team visited Daniel Farke’s Norwich City on Tuesday. And despite taking a first half lead at Carrow Road through James Chester, a brace after the break from striker Jordan Rhodes sealed a 2-1 win for the Canaries, thus instigating Villa’s fall to 16th place in the Championship table.

Thus, there have been many disappointed Villans supporters up and down the country in recent times, several of whom have taken to Twitter to express their frustration, with winger Albert Adomah coming in for much criticism following his display on Tuesday night.

The 30-year-old made the move to Villa Park back in 2016 after a three-year stint at Middlesbrough, and was one of the club’s most important players under Steve Bruce last season in netting 15 goals in all competitions to help the Villans reach the Championship play-off final.

But with no goals to show for his endeavours so far this season, despite appearing in all but one of their 14 Championship matches, Adomah simply hasn’t hit the heights so far, and put in another below-par display at Carrow Road on Tuesday night before being replaced after 52 minutes after picking up a knock.

And his display certainly didn’t go unnoticed among several Villa supporters on Twitter…
