Aston Villa: Fans return love after Tyrone Mings hails great connection with the faithful

Tyrone Mings has been saying all the right things in the lead up to the Play-Off Final after a stand-out half-season for Aston Villa.

He’s played 15 games since arriving on loan from Bournemouth in January and he was key to the end-of-season form that saw Dean Smith’s men storm up the table and into the play-offs.

In an official club tweet he said: “I am absolutely loving it here. I have been made to feel very, very welcome by the fans. It’s been fantastic. It feels perfect.”

He also declared his relationship with the fans as a “match made in heaven”.

And even the sceptics have changed their minds on him:

Whether Villa secure him on a permanent transfer or not, the fans will be grateful for his efforts this season. But can he go all the way and take the club back to the Premier League? If he can, surely we’ll be seeing the towering defender don the famous claret and blue kit for years to come, with the Express and Star reporting a few days ago that a permanent transfer would depend on Premier League promotion.
