The late loan capture of Tammy Abraham was somewhat of a shock to Aston Villa fans considering the rollercoaster journey they’d be on over the course of the summer. Indeed, having almost suffered financial ruin, landing the England international for the season was a real coup.
Abraham followed the likes of Yannick Bolaise and Anwar El-Ghazi as attacking additions for Steve Bruce’s side, giving the Midlands giants a wonderfully varied frontline.
However, it’s not exactly been a great start to the season for the Villains. They currently lie in 12th position and are yet to pull up any trees, so we recently asked our Villa supporting readers, is Abraham enough to reach the Premier League?
Interestingly enough, it’s been a total split. 50% of polled supporters believe the Chelsea loanee IS capable of leading the club back to the proverbial Promised Land, while the other exact half think another signing in January is in order.
If Abraham can rediscover the kind of form that saw him propel Bristol City up the league, Villa are onto a winner. Still, there are wider problems for Steve Bruce right now, making it one to watch this season.
