Whilst Villa may have lost last night, the fans have been trying to take the positives from Dean Smith’s second game in charge. One of the few positives was Axel Tuanzebe’s performance as the on-loan Man United man put in a stellar display and showed all of The Villains what he’s capable of.
Axel Tuanzebe is a class act. Only positive from tonight. #avfc

This season will be Tuanzebe’s first full one at Villa Park after he spent the second half of the 2017/18 campaign at the club and it looks like whilst Steve Bruce got a lot of things wrong in his final few months at Villa, his decision to resign the Manchester United man on another loan has been a good one. Last night saw the 20-year-old step up the plate in ways that Villa fans didn’t know he could and now he’ll be expected to do a lot more after last night’s display.
It looks like Dean Smith is the man to get the best out of Tuanzebe. Last season when he spent six months with the club the England U21 international managed just five appearances in the Championship. This season has already seen him double that tally by making ten outings and it looks like he’s going to be a key figure at the back for Villa and he’s already starting to set up a tidy centre-back partnership with James Chester.
You can read The Villains’ thoughts on Tuanzebe’s display here:
Yeah he looked very good. Made Chester look average!

Thought Tuanzebe was the pick 4us 2nite, also thought Neil Taylor has settled back in2 the team well, not Taylor’s biggest fan but done ok last 2games & u can c benefit of having left footer in that position rather than Hutton. Somehow only 8pts off top & not got goin yet #avfc

The Villains were delighted with Tuanzebe’s Norwich display and will hope his individual performances can help spur his side on to three points against QPR in their next game on Friday evening.
