Aston Villa won’t want to miss out on promotion to the Premier League in the current campaign after the heartache of last season’s play-off final defeat.
The Villains haven’t been able to ensure consistency after an impressive start to proceedings under Steve Bruce, with an automatic promotion place slipping away. Although, it looks as if the Midlands club are eyeing a potential swoop, as according to Teamtalk, Aston Villa are interested in signing free agent Bakary Sako.
Indeed, the 30-year-old left Crystal Palace earlier in the summer after failing to agree terms on a new contract.
And, it’s thought that Villa could rival Middlesbrough with an offer for the former Crystal Palace man, despite beating the fellow Championship side to Yannick Bolasie’s signature.
Bakary Sako has previous experience in the Championship from his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers, so he could be the missing piece to Villa’s promotion puzzle.
The winger still has a lot to offer and will no doubt establish himself as one of the standout performers at Villa Park if they manage to secure his services.
Supporters are drooling at the thought of having Yannick Bolasie and Bakary Sako on either wing, a midfield pairing that will no doubt cause havoc in the Championship.
