Aston Villa face an almost impossible task to secure a play-off spot from here on in as they’ve failed to ensure consistency in recent times, with yesterday’s draw adding to their frustrations.
The Villains could only secure a point away at the bet365 Stadium yesterday as Albert Adomah netted the equaliser in the second half, after Sam Vokes opened the scoring for the Potters.
Interestingly, it appears as if Villa are eyeing a possible summer swoop, as according to reliable journalist Alan Nixon’s personal Twitter account, Aston Villa are keen on signing Barnsley’s Liam Lindsay.
ASTON VILLA. Very keen on Liam Lindsay at BARNSLEY. Need new players next season. Badly.

Liam Lindsay has been a regular for current club Barnsley in the current campaign and he’s managed to establish himself as one of the best central defenders in League One. He’s made 36 appearances in all competitions and will play a big part in the Tykes’ pursuit of automatic promotion to the Championship.
It’s safe to say that the Villains haven’t exactly been defensively sound in recent times, despite adding Tyrone Mings to their ranks last month, as they’ve failed to keep a clean-sheet in their last four Championship games.
The 23-year-old still has his best years ahead of him and he’s already shown that he can excel in League One this season, so a move to the Championship would be just reward.
Indeed, it’s vital that the Villains strengthen at the heart of the defence as they’re still lacking quality, with James Chester’s injury certainly not helping their cause.
