Aston Villa haven’t been able to assert their dominance on proceedings recently as they continue to slip away from the play-off places.
The Villains would have set their sights on promotion to the Premier League prior to the start of the current campaign, but things haven’t turned out that way as they dropped another couple of points on Friday. Although, Steve Bruce appears to be looking at potential additions, as according to the Sun on Sunday (30/09; page 59) (via HITC), Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna.
Aston Villa are believed to be keeping tabs on Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna.
However, they aren’t the only club seeking an interest, as representatives from Swansea City, Aston Villa and Norwich City were all up in Scotland last week to watch the highly-rated defender in action.
The 21 years-old has burst onto the scene for Aberdeen over the past year or so and is a man in demand.
Scott McKenna has plenty of potential that’s still yet to be unlocked, so it’s fair to say that he would definitely be able to fill John Terry’s boots at Aston Villa.
The Villains could do with a central defender that can produce consistent performances in the long run, and the Scotland international looks to be the perfect man for the job.
