Aston Villa receive latest boost in quest to have 27-year-old at club for 2017/18

Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern are certainly looking forward to their side signing some players in the summer window when it opens up for business.

The men from Villa Park are expecting to be one of the favourites to go up next season but they have to get some new faces in before they can really embark on such a challenge.

Who comes in, then, remains to be seen but, as a further boost, the Villans look set to keep hold of Jonathan Kodjia.

The striker had a good first season at Villa and quickly won the adoration of the fans, leaving many wanting him to stay at the club past this summer.

And, much to their likely delight, it now seems as though the striker will be staying put – as reports The Birmingham Mail.

Indeed, the report has quoted the likes of Steve Bruce and the stance from the club does seem to be as though they are determined to keep him at the club.

Bruce said:

“It would take a colossal sum of money for us to even think about it (selling him).

“We are Aston Villa and we want to try and get promoted.”

Villa fans, then, will surely love hearing these words and our landlord reckons keeping Kodjia would prove a real statement from the club.
