Aston Villa should look at adding Joselu for more attacking intent

Aston Villa have finally confirmed the future of their manager Steve Bruce, that he will stay and be the man to hopefully guide the Villans back into the top flight.

Having missed out on promotion last season after losing in the play-off final to Fulham, Steve Bruce will be determined to make amends and do the best he can with the resources available to him. The forward is arguably the most important thing for Villa to focus on this coming season, with Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan the men tasked with scoring the goals.

Two options probably isn’t enough for Villa and so recruiting a player like Joselu from Newcastle, (who is valued at £3.6 million on Transfermarkt) could be great business.

The 28-year-old is on the fringes with Newcastle already as the Magpies look set to complete the signing of Yoshinori Muto. Joselu only joined Newcastle last season from Stoke but after scoring four goals in the Premier League, it may be a possibility Joselu will be allowed to leave. Aston Villa, despite his average goalscoring record in the top flight should definitely be in contention for his signature as he is a striker they don’t have already at Villa Park. The Spaniard is a big, physical target man that is lethal in the air as well as a good with his feet.

Joselu could be the perfect partner for either Kodjia or Hogan as he offers something completely different to them both. One thing is for certain, Villa need to improve their squad if they have any chance of making it back to the Premier League and Joselu could fit in well with the style of the Championship.
