Aston Villa supporters split over potential exit of £8.1m-rated spearhead

A player exodus is currently taking place at Villa Park, with more names set to follow the likes of John Terry, Robert Snodgrass and Sam Johnstone out of Aston Villa.

And according to Football Insider, Jonathan Kodjia could be the next to leave with Leeds United lining up a bid for the 28-year-old who they view as a possible alternative to primary target Matej Vydra.

£8.1m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Kodjia missed most of last season through injury, but the Ivory Coast international was in good form for the Villans the campaign prior, scoring 19 goals in 36 Championship appearances.

That is the sort of firepower Villa will need when English football’s second division returns next month.

Looking at Steve Bruce’s current options up front and considering the financial restrictions at the club, Kodjia should be retained, unless owner Tony Xia receives an offer that will make a significant difference to the present situation at Villa Park.

Take a look at what Villa supporters have had to say on Kodjia’s possible departure to Leeds below…
