Aston Villa fans would have been forgiven if they did not feel their side were capable of achieving a playoff spot at some point in the season, with it looking a real possibility at the moment. A really good run of form has seen Dean Smith’s side propel into contention and will know a win against Middlesbrough could potentially lift them into the final spot.
And, it appears that the Villans have some rather encouraging news starting to emerge as we approach the business end of the Championship campaign.
What’s the News?
According to the club’s official website, Anwar El Ghazi is available for the game against Boro on Saturday after doubts about whether he would be fit.
The Dutch winger was forced off at half-time in their win against Nottingham Forest in midweek with an injury to his arm, however, Smith revealed he would be available for selection.
The manager also revealed that Axel Tuanzebe and Henri Lansbury could be in contention to return following the international break, whilst James Chester and Alan Hutton are progressing well.
