Aston Villa will be disappointed that they didn’t secure all three points against West Bromwich Albion last night as they conceded a controversial goal in the dying embers.
The Villains won’t let this affect their push for a play-off spot in the current campaign as they’ve come on leaps and bounds under Dean Smith. And, it appears as if the club are eyeing a potential addition, as according to Le10 Sport (via The Boot Room), Aston Villa have been closely monitoring the progress of Baptiste Santamaria.
Dean Smith’s side are thought to have established an interest in Baptiste Santamaria.
Villa scouts have been eyeing the 23-year-old after being deployed across Ligue 1, but Saint-Etienne, Bordeaux and Strasbourg are also keeping tabs on him.
Santamaria operates in a defensive midfield role and has been one of the standout performers this season for Angers in Ligue 1, so it comes as no surprise that Villa are interested.
Baptiste Santamaria has been very impressive over in France this season, so the Villains should look to bring him to Villa Park to help provide cover in the middle of midfield.
Dean Smith has managed to get the very best out of his players since taking over at Aston Villa, so a potential January addition would only boost their chances of securing promotion.
