Aston Villa failed to make their possession count against Queens Park Rangers yesterday as they found themselves on the receiving end of a 1-0 defeat.
The Villains will be desperate to bounce back and secure three points in their next outing, with a play-off spot still not a million miles away. Although, they did suffer a setback on the injury front recently, as according to Aston Villa’s official website, Birkir Bjarnason could face time on the sidelines.
Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has admitted midfielder Birkir Bjarnason could face time on the sidelines after picking up an injury in the 1-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers on Friday night.
Bjarnason was replaced by the Villa boss, who has admitted that losing the Iceland international caused disruptions to the Birmingham-based outfit’s play.
“He felt his groin so he had to come off,”
“You look at Tuesday where Tammy and Albert come off and they score and it happened tonight with BB.”
Birkir Bjarnason put in an impressive performance yesterday at Loftus Road, so the club and supporters will be hoping that he isn’t sidelined for too long.
Indeed, the international midfielder offers a different dynamic in the middle of midfield and has the ability to find the back of the net, which made his departure from the field even harder.
