Aston Villa have started their Championship campaign strongly as they continue to work towards promotion to the Premier League after last season’s disappointment.
The Villans have managed to hold onto their star players and now look like they could mount a genuine push for promotion to the Premier League once again. Although, Steve Bruce is yet to figure out his strongest XI and should definitely look to switch things up later on today.
Steve Bruce’s side will welcome Reading to Villa Park in what should be a comfortable match for the Villans. The Royals will be concerned by the start they’ve made to their Championship campaign as they could find themselves in a relegation battle, with another loss today putting them in all kinds of trouble.
Interestingly, one man who hasn’t really featured that much so far this season is one of last season’s star performers Conor Hourihane.
The Republic of Ireland international formed a formidable partnership with Glenn Whelan in the middle of midfield last season, but Bruce has opted to go with a completely new partnership in the current campaign.
However, the Villans have been caught out on the counter-attack recently and looked nervy, so bringing Hourihane into the side would provide stability and offer more protection in front of the defence.
