Dream November: Aston Villa

Dream November: Aston Villa
Aston Villa would have been hoping to challenge for an automatic promotion place after last season’s heartache, but things haven’t gone to plan so far.

The Villains struggled to ensure consistency under the guidance of Steve Bruce, and they still find themselves looking for answers to this day under the newly-appointed Dean Smith.

Indeed, the Championship club managed to hold onto a number of their star players this summer but failed to strengthen at the heart of the defence after John Terry’s departure. So, ensuring consistency will be vital from here on in if they are to make anything of the current campaign.

Interestingly, the month of November may decide Aston Villa’s fate as they have the opportunity to climb into the play-off places, but things could also go horribly wrong at the same time.

With that in mind, here is the dream November for the Villains…

JACK GREALISH HITS TOP FORM

Jack Grealish has established himself as a fan favourite over the years at Villa Park and has the potential to become one of the best attacking midfielders in English football, but form has been an issue this season.

The Englishman did manage to get himself on the scoresheet against Bolton Wanderers last time out but he just hasn’t contributed enough in the current campaign, which could be the source of Villa’s problems as they’ve relied so heavily upon him in recent times.

But, if he manages to find his feet and starts contributing in the final third then Villa could soon find themselves back in play-off contention.

DEAN SMITH FINDS WINNING FORMULA

Dean Smith has struggled to adjust to life at Villa Park since making the move from Brentford, with the January transfer window not coming soon enough. Indeed, the Midlands club have looked impressive in possession of the ball, but consistency has been one of the biggest problems.
Supporters will be hoping that Smith can really start to rally his troops for a strong month in their calendar by identifying the winning formula at Villa Park after securing all three points against Bolton Wanderers.
