Harry Redknapp does not believe Thierry Henry will be Aston Villa boss

There appears to have been a new twist in the Aston Villa managerial chase.

According to Harry Redknapp, who was talking on TalkSport’s Breakfast Show on Tuesday, Thierry Henry will not be heading to Villa Park as the new manager.

The former Premier League boss has revealed that he believes the former Arsenal legend will not be named the new man to take charge.

Redknapp, who feels John Terry is in a better position to be named as the Villan’s new manager, felt the rumours about the Frenchman were wide of the mark and claimed he had heard that it would not be happening.

“I don’t think Thierry’s going to go there,” he told the TalkSport show.

“I don’t think that’s going to happen, that’s what I’ve heard.

“I was at a function last night and John Terry was there, and I had a feeling John was right in the frame for the Villa job.

“He’s certainly a runner, that’s for sure.”

The Verdict:

Henry has been heavily linked as the favourite to take over the vacant position at Aston Villa by a number of different outlets.

The Frenchman is thought to be closing in on the role, however, with Redknapp’s latest remarks, it remains to be seen if he does.

The former Premier League boss will likely have heard things at the function he was at and would have spoken with Terry through the course of the evening.
