Jack Grealish won’t be sold in January

Aston Villa will need to keep their best players at the club this winter if they are to have any chance of challenging for a playoff spot.

Dean Smith, who recently replaced Steve Bruce as manager, will need to see improvements from his team in the first instance, although he knows he will have to keep hold of the majority of his players from potential interest.

One man that has been consistently linked with a move to the Premier League, despite having signed a new long-term contract, is Jack Grealish.

It has been claimed that Tottenham Hotspur could still look to make an offer for him in January after failing to land him in the summer, via the Daily Express.

However, Sport Witness are claiming that they have been told that the midfielder will stay with the Villans until the summer at the very least.

The Verdict:

Grealish is a key player for Aston Villa and they will need to do all they can to keep him at Villa Park beyond the winter transfer window.

It became public knowledge of how “disappointed” the midfielder was that a move to Tottenham did not happen.

The 23-year-old has only recorded the one assist so far this season, however, his performances are likely to improve with Smith’s approach to games possibly benefiting him.
