After talk of finances dominated much of Aston Villa’s summer, the club look to be a very capable team on the pitch, Bruce’s men are so far unbeaten in the Championship.
A last minute equaliser at home to Brentford showed a real never-say-die spirit at the club, the players likely rallying together after the clubs recent, well-publicised, financial issues.
The club got through the summer window holding onto their prized asset in midfielder Jack Grealish. Despite rumours surrounding his future, in particular, that Tottenham Hotspur were keen to sign the player, the Villa Park outfit kept hold of their man. His creative capabilities will really help propel the Villains to a strong season this term. Perhaps they are just a couple of players short of having a squad capable of challenging for the Championship top spot.
With that in mind, a couple more loan-signings before the EFL window slams shut would seal Villa’s promotion…
The Tottenham Hotspur winger spent last season on loan with Burnley, but failed to make an impact with the Lancashire outfit.
Nevertheless, he would be a serious talent for Championship level. He is very unlikely to get much game time at the new-look White Hart Lane, so perhaps a loan to a Championship side would be a good option for the Frenchman.
With Albert Adomah ageing, he would provide a great extra option out wide for the Villa Park outfit.
Aston Villa have previous of doing loan-business with the London Stadium outfit, last season managing to gain the services of Scotsman Robert Snodgrass.
Josh Cullen is a 22-year-old product of the West Ham United academy, his qualities on the ball in midfield would help Steve Bruce’s men dominate games in terms of possession and get a real foothold in matches.
He would add great depth to the Villa midfield, and over the course 0f a long season, the club have to be ready for the fact that injuries can take their toll on a squad. Cullen’s technical ability could help seal promotion for Aston Villa.
