Aston Villa were on the path to promotion last season right until the last game but after they lost to Fulham in the play-off final, the club haven’t made any signings to make the fans feel optimistic again.
That is quite upsetting for those fans as easily with a few good additions, confidence will be flooding back around Villa Park. The board have backed manager Steve Bruce, saying he is the best man for the job and this season will be his chance to prove exactly that. However, the Englishman can only hold up his part of the bargain with money to spend on a forward like Nahki Wells, who is valued at £4 million on Transfermarkt.
Aston Villa already have two very capable forwards within their ranks in Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan but with that not proving enough last season and with the possibility for injuries, Nahki Wells would be a very sensible signing.
The Burnley forward has barely had a chance under Shaun Dyche and at the age of 28, Wells has to be eyeing regular football in a bid to be seen as a useful striker once again. His reputation in the Championship is brilliant, having scored 17 goals in the 2015/16 and 10 goals in the next for Huddersfield.
Nahki Wells would be a sterling addition for Aston Villa and his goals could the helping had they need to propel themselves back into the top flight. Yes, that’s a big ask but with quality around him, Wells is a striker the Villans need.
Steve Bruce will surely be keen to invest in some new talent for the squad in order to do his job in the best way he can, with Nahki Wells potentially playing a big part in that.
