Aston Villa will still have their sights set on securing a play-off spot in the Championship this season, despite their lack of consistency in recent times.
The Villans are going to have to seek massive improvements if they are to make anything of the current campaign, with the teams above them all picking up points on a regular basis.
Of course, fans will be hoping that March turns out to be a successful month for their side, but things could easily go from bad to worse as the Midlands club are set to face a number of promotion-chasing sides.
Therefore, with four more games set to be played this month, here is Aston Villa’s nightmare March…
TAMMY ABRAHAM FLOPS
Tammy Abraham has surpassed expectations in the Championship in the current campaign as Aston Villa’s go-to man, with 21 goals and two assists to his name up until this point.
It’s safe to say that the Villans’ play-off chances rest on whether the Englishman can take his game up another couple of levels before the end of the season, as he’s been their main source of goals and excitement.
But, Villa could encounter a nightmare situation if he ends up flopping this month, as a lack of goals would inevitably put the club’s play-off dreams to bed.
PLAY-OFF HOPES RUINED
Aston Villa are set to play the likes of Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough and Blackburn Rovers this month. Dean Smith’s side will need to be at their best if they are to secure many points in their upcoming fixtures, as three of the teams are chasing promotion.
Therefore, things aren’t looking promising for the Villans and their play-off dreams could soon be over if Smith fails to get the best out of his side in the coming weeks.
