Aston Villa have struggled to reach their full potential in the current campaign, which has forced a managerial change with Dean Smith taking charge.
The Villains have won two and lost two since Smith took charge at Villa Park, so you could say that things are no different to how they were under Steven Bruce.
Indeed, it’s vital that Aston Villa can ensure consistency in what could prove to be a season-defining month, with the opportunity to climb up the table and challenge for a play-off spot.
Although, with plenty of games still yet to come and a number of negative factors possibly coming into play, the Midlands club could soon find themselves slipping away.
Therefore, here’s TWO things that could force Aston Villa to take a step backwards…
GREALISH FAILS TO CONTRIBUTE
Jack Grealish hasn’t been able to live up to expectations in the current campaign after enjoying an incredible season last time out at Villa Park. Indeed, the Englishman only has one goal and two assists to his name this season, so it’s safe to say that he’s underperforming at this moment in time.
The attacking midfielder did managed to find the back of the net against Bolton Wanderers last time out, but things could go from bad to worse for Villa if he fails to contribute for the rest of the month.
LOSE SIGHT OF PLAY-OFF PLACES
Aston Villa are currently in fourteenth position in the Championship and remain five points off a play-off place, which is quite remarkable considering their rollercoaster season so far.
But, this won’t mean anything if they fail to ensure consistency during the month of November and start sliding down the Championship table, with the teams above them all likely to pick up points.
