Potential consequences: Aston Villa move for Saidy Janko

No matter what Aston Villa try and do at the moment, nothing seems to be working as one of the best squads in the Championship is struggling desperately.

Despite the arrival of Dean Smith, the Villans haven’t had much time to get used to the former Brentford boss as games come thick and fast in the Championship.

With the need to have as a good a squad as a starting 11, Villa have already been linked with a host of players in regards to a potential deal in January.

Football Insider amongst other sources are reporting that Aston Villa are keen on agreeing a deal with Porto to sign Saidy Janko, who is currently on-loan with Nottingham Forest.

The defender has shown what he can do in the early stages of his loan spell but if a move was agreed, what could that mean for Aston Villa…

Alan Hutton finally replaced in the team

No matter how good a servant Hutton has been for the club, it is soon time for the Scotsman to be ushered out of the team for someone better.

Saidy Janko has made a great start to his loan spell at the City Ground and with a hand in two clean sheets in his five appearances, it’s no wonder Villa are so keen on agreeing a deal for him now.

The 23-year-old speed demon is an accomplished defender that isn’t afraid of getting forward and supporting an attack either.

Dean Smith can be confident with a tighter defence

Aston Villa’s form has similarly emulated a rollercoaster and Dean Smith will be working tirelessly to amend that.

Specifically their defending has been a prominent issue that needs sorting out and immediately a potential deal to sign Saidy Janko would help immensely.
