Ross McCormack completes move to Central Coast Mariners

Aston Villa have finally managed to offload one of their outcasts, albeit by virtue of a temporary deal.

The club’s official website has announced, in a very short statement, that Ross McCormack has left Villa Park and headed to Australia.

The Scotland international attacker will team up with the likes of Usain Bolt at A-League outfit Central Coast Mariners on a season-long loan deal.

The 32-year-old had an impressive spell down under last season when he spent a short period of time on loan at Melbourne City and netted 14 times in 16 appearances for them.

He will be available to play for the whole A-League campaign, as the football calendar does not start until October and will be looking to get a fresh start under his belt.

McCormack was clearly deemed surplus to requirements at Villa Park under Steve Bruce following a public spat between them and having been shipped out on loan a number of times.

The Verdict:

McCormack and Aston Villa will both be delighted that a move to the Central Coast Mariners has been completed.

The £4.5million-rated attacker, as per Transfermarkt, has only endured what could be described as a nightmare time at Villa Park and will want to continue his career once again.

He has struggled to make an impact with the Villans, however, that could largely be down to the fact he never really had a chance after falling out with Bruce.
