Ross McCormack’s decline has baffled Leeds fans

Leeds United are flying high at the moment and the fans will be feeling very grateful to be where they are, however, it’s not all sunshine for everyone associated with the club as Ross McCormack has found out. The Scottish striker spent four years at Elland Road but has struggled since leaving and has now been loaned to Australian club, Central Coast Mariners by Aston Villa.

A lot of Leeds fans are wondering just how this has happened. After tearing up the Championship with Leeds in the 2013/14 season, his 28 goals and 10 assists in 48 league games was enough to convince Fulham to shell out £10 million for him when they were relegated. He only lasted two years in London, though, before he was on the move again when Aston Villa offered The Whites £12 million to sign him.

Since he’s been at Villa he’s struggled somewhat and has already had two loan spells since being in Birmingham. This will be his third loan away from Villa Park and his second one to Australia after he spent the first half of last season with Melbourne City where he scored 14 goals in 17 appearances for the A-League side. This time around he’ll be playing with the Central Coast Mariners and could feature alongside Usain Bolt. The Leeds fans, though, can’t work out how it’s come to this for the striker who looked so good for them.

The Leeds fans seem gutted to see McCormack’s career has gone so far downhill since he left them and they’ll be keen for him to light up the A-League yet again.
