Steve Bruce has full backing of new majority owners

Aston Villa will be trying to look ahead to the upcoming Championship campaign as things are starting to become clearer at Villa Park.

The Villans now have new majority owners in charge, with Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens having arrived and it appears that they have given their backing for Steve Bruce to be the man to help get the club back into the Premier League.

According to a statement on the club’s official website, the duo are ready to fully support the current manager, despite speculation suggesting that he could have been replaced by Thierry Henry.

The statement read: “Aston Villa can confirm manager Steve Bruce has met majority owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens and will continue as manager with their full support.”

The Verdict:

Now that the uncertainty surrounding the future of Bruce is over, the manager will be looking forward to getting back to work with his players, however, there was no update on what the financial situation of the club is.

Villa were in a position of having to sell their best players due to financial concerns, however, the businessmen were thought to have paid off a debt that was owed, although the club may still fall foul of the Financial Fair Play regulations.
