Dean Smith has taken on a huge job at Villa Park. The ex-Brentford man has been asked a lot of since swapping The Bees for The Villains and whilst he’s lost his last two games, the fans like what they see from their side and are prepared to persevere with their new gaffer.

At the end of the Steve Bruce era, the football was turgid, the fans were unhappy and overall things were looking messy for The Villa Park faithful. However, Dean Smith has come in and in just a couple of weeks of training with the club and the players, the difference out on the pitch is clear for all to see. The results, though haven’t quite been there as after a 1-0 win over Swansea the club have fallen to 2-1 and 1-0 defeats against Norwich and QPR.
That will change very soon if Smith is given more time. The 47-year-old punched well above his weight with both Walsall and Brentford before switching to Villa Park. If he can keep up his streak of being successful and going above and beyond like he has with his last two clubs then Villa will be back in the Premier League in no time, although at the moment, that looks like a long way off to some fans. The fans liked what they saw on Friday from Smith’s side and will be keen to see him continue instilling his football on the club.

Smith hasnt even had a full week on the training ground with these lads, 3 games in 1 week is a lot to turn around bruce's mess! The results will come the more smith trains with them!

It's only took Dean 3 games to change the dull, bland boring football we was playing under Bruce, into attacking exciting football, we was just unlucky last night and a defensive error cost us.

The fans are ready to give Smith time and will trust him to turn things around sooner rather than later.
