Xia’s reluctance could cause Aston Villa even further problems

Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern will be devastated with the situation their side currently find themselves in and will be hoping they can get it sorted out before it is too late.

The Villans have been suffering from a financial crisis ever since their defeat in the Championship Play-Off final with Fulham and has seen Steve Bruce lose some of his key players.

John Terry has already had to leave the club, whilst there are rumours that Jack Grealish could also be on the move. One of the biggest concerns for the locals in the Tavern is that owner Dr Tony Xia is now looking to sell just two years after buying the club from Randy Lerner.

However, according to a report in the Daily Mirror, the Chinese businessman is not prepared to sell the Villans to an American, despite rumoured interest from the other side of the Atlantic.

It is believed that Xia’s reluctance to do a deal with the Americans is due to international relations between the two countries, rather than footballing reasons.

Landlord’s Verdict

The Villa fans in the Tavern will be devastated that the club is currently in the situation it is in and would want Xia to do the right thing for them, rather than for himself. The Villans are in desperate need of financial backing, however, if they do not get it, then the locals will be concerned with what may happen to them in the future.
