Birmingham City: These fans aren’t impressed with Pep Clotet

Pep Clotet has been speaking about how Birmingham City need to find a balance between attack and defence, as shown on the club’s official channels.

Having lost the last game 3-0 against Swansea City, after suffering defeat in their previous two away games by the same scoreline against Portsmouth and Nottingham Forest, it is clear that something needs to change.

The manager has had his say on what he feels that is:

However, there are many bluenoses who aren’t buying this, with the feeling among some being that his system is too defence-minded – something which clearly hasn’t paid dividends away from home.

Blues have often played with a back five this campaign, with a midfield three, two of which are usually sitting.

This can make it hard to get up the pitch, as highlighted by the fact Birmingham didn’t get a single shot on target against Swansea, as per WhoScored.

There is hope for Clotet though, as his side are unbeaten at home, having defeated Barnsley and drawn against Bristol City, so with Saturday’s game against Stoke City being at St. Andrew’s, he will be determined to ensure Blues get a win that can help bring some fans back onside.
