Birmingham City have had three players included in WhoScored’s Championship Team of the Week following their 2-0 win against Barnsley.
Wes Harding, Harlee Dean and Lukas Jutkiewicz were the three Blues players to be included, with Fulham the only other side to get the same number of men in the team.
Harding was making his first start of the campaign and came up with a rating of 8.2, which was tied as the best of any defender in the league.
Operating as a right-wing-back, the 22-year-old assisted the game’s opening goal and made one tackle, one interception as well as three clearances, while winning three aerial duels and completing three dribbles.
Dean played alongside him as the right-centre-back and was an indomitable figure, getting a rating of 7.8 having made two tackles, one clearance and four interceptions, as well as winning seven aerial duels throughout the game.
Jutkiewicz was the final Blues player to make the cut with a rating of 7.7, which will have been heavily influenced by his header at the back post to open the scoring.
That goal came from his only shot of the game, with his main impact outside of that moment being that he won seven aerial duels throughout the game.
Each of these three players – and their other teammates – gave a great showing of themselves against Barnsley and their places in the Team of the Week are well deserved.
Pep Clotet will now be hoping they can continue this kind of form against Swansea City on Sunday.
