Birmingham fans show delight at Isaac Vassell injury update

Birmingham are celebrating the return of striker Isaac Vassell after nearly a year on the sidelines.

Manager Garry Monk says that the 24-year-old is on the home straight in his recovery from the devastating knee injury he suffered against Aston Villa last year, in what will be a terrific relief for many fans of the Blues.

Birmingham are without a win so far this season, and the fans believe that Vassell (valued at £225k on Transfermarkt.co.uk) will be the answer to their problems, bringing pace to their attack. After moving from Luton Town last summer, the forward only played nine league games, scoring once, before the injury cut short his 2017/18 season, and he’ll be raring to get back onto the pitch.

The Blues play fourth place Swansea tonight in the Championship at St Andrew’s, with Monk likely to select Che Adams and Lukas Jutkiewicz up front. The manager will relish the return of Vassell, who will create competition for places in the Birmingham attack.

Not long now to wait for Birmingham fans.
