Bristol City: Fans react to loan departure

Bristol City fans have reacted to the news that Robbie Cundy is going out on loan.

Cundy has joined Torquay United in the National League on his second loan of the season, cutting his loan deal with Exeter City short – to much of the surprise of many City fans.

The defender played the entire of last season at Bath City in the National League South and helped the team reach the quarter-final phase of the play-offs, before they lost to Wealdstone 3-1 at home.

He will now link up with the father of Bristol City coach Lee Johnson in Gary Johnson – who previously managed the Robins. Torquay currently sit 11th in the league, gathering 12 points from their opening nine.

According to Bristol City’s website, Cundy left his loan spell at League Two Exeter as he wasn’t getting the first-team football that he craved, thus taking a drop to a lower level to play more regularly.

Bristol City fans gave a variety of responses, many of which were confusion as some fans still thought the player was at Exeter. Others wished the player well before his new start.

Here are some of the responses below…
