Bristol City: Fans worried as coach departure rumours develop - Championship

Many Bristol City fans appear to be growing anxious amid rumours that Bristol City legend and loan manager Brian Tinnion could be set to depart the club.

According to the Bristol Post, Premier League clubs are sniffing around Ashton Gate for the fan favourite. Their sources suggest that Tinnion is ‘considering his future’ and allegedly does not agree with the club’s current transfer policy.

The same story says that many other leading figures within the academy are disappointed that the pathway is being blocked for young, homegrown talent within Bristol.

Reportedly, at least one offer has been tabled by a Premier League club, however, no deal has been agreed by the club. The story also states that “it must be stressed” that according to their sources, it is not about finances but a “difference of opinion”.

Seven academy players have departed on loan to league clubs in England and Scotland this summer while several million was spent on signing under-23 talent from outside Bristol such as Jay Dasilva from Chelsea, Han-Noah Massengo from Monaco and Benfica’s Pedro Pereira on loan.

Tinnion has played a remarkable 466 league games for Bristol City between the years of 1993-2005, and has even managed the side for a stage in 2004-2005.

Many Bristol City fans on Twitter seem understandably concerned about the developments, with people describing him as “Mr Bristol City”, as well as others crying out for him to stay.

Here are some of the responses below…
