Charlton Athletic fans are jubilant after it has been announced that Steve Gallen has joined the club’s board of directors.
Steve Gallen has been working as Charlton’s head of recruitment since April 2017 and has brought obvious success. Gallen has overseen numerous successful transfer windows, including the most recent one, with the club sitting second in the league.
This summer the Addicks have added 14 players to their ranks and they are yet to lose a game in the Championship this season thanks to the likes of Conor Gallagher, with the 19-year-old already netting three times.
Gallen joins owner Roland Duchatelet and director Richard Murray on the board.
Gallen, who works closely with Bowyer, heads up a team of club scouts, said to the club website: “It’s an honour and a privilege to be appointed to the Board of Directors. I have really enjoyed my time at Charlton. Last season was incredible and winning at Wembley is something I’ll never forget. This season is a new challenge and like everyone I’ve been thrilled with how we’ve started.
Owner Roland Duchatelet added that he believes that Steve Gallen will be able to help sell the club – the board’s number one priority.
Charlton fans have reacted really positively to the news and are clearly very happy to have someone like Gallen as part of the board.
Memes flooded in as well as general messages of support, with even a few Charlton fans suggesting this could help them reach the promised land of the Premier League.
