Charlton fans have given a mixed response to West Brom loanee Jonathan Leko’s performance versus Nottingham Forest.
The youngster was able to register an assist but missed a key chance when Charlton were 1-0 which could have seen them pull away from Forest.
The final score finished 1-1, with Albert Adomah equalising for Forest in the 78th minute after a poorly dealt with corner. Adomah managed to score from close range after Tom Lockyer lost the ball, meaning that both sides would share the spoils.
Jonathan Leko had a key part to play in the opener, though, being involved with many passes in a 22-pass goal, which resulted in the 20-year-old swinging in a ball from the right flank onto the head of Lyle Taylor, who nodded it beyond Aro Muric to put the Addicks in front.
Leko started the match in a front-two alongside Taylor, almost playing off the centre forward and often finding himself wide on the right. He played 77 minutes before Chuks Aneke replaced him.
This was Leko’s third start in a row for the club and was also the second time he has created an assist this season.
Charlton’s result means that they remain unbeaten despite being widely tipped for relegation; they have recorded two wins and two draws and sit 5th in the table.
There was a mixed response from Charlton fans to Leko’s performance, with many being optimistic about how lively he is, while others rued his composure and say he lost the ball too much.
Here are some of the Charlton fans are saying…
Disappointed with the end result, we should’ve buried them 1st half and that Leko chance! Proud of Charlton so far though 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 #cafc

Leko loses possession too much for my liking. I'd drop him and go Williams and Otzumer next match. Use Leko as an impact sub #cafc

We have some serious players in our squad, let’s hope they stay fit! All of our midfield was top notch, back four solid, and Leko didn’t stop running! Field was lucky to stay on the pitch in my opinion #cafc

Leko fast but hasn’t taken his chances. Field ok tonight, haven’t seen enough yet of him.

Was surprised at how poor Forest were in the first half and they certainly made changes and asserted themselves more in the second half. Just shows how clinical you have to be in this league or you will pay. Leko miss a big one. #cafc

Jonathan Leko missed that massive chance in the second half as well.
Very exciting player though, it's like he has a magnetic pull towards the ball. Opposition always struggle to get it off him #cafc
